About

Liz Congdon Forster is an experienced grant writer, researcher, and manager. She specializes in securing large government grants, but also works with clients on smaller foundation proposals. Liz is a self-taught excel nerd who loves a good rubric. Liz received her B.F.A. in Art History with a Minor in Business from Syracuse University, and her M.A. in Museum Studies from SUNY Oneonta. Liz is based out of Alfred, NY and writes for clients all over the country but mostly in New York State.

Since 2017, Liz has served as the lead writer securing more than $17,144,785 in grant funding. Her clients’ ROI (return-on-investment) for grant writing services has averaged more than 60:1 – meaning that, on average, for every dollar invested in grant writing, her clients have received $60.25 for their projects and programs.

In 2024, Liz received her Grant Certified Professional (GPC) credential through the Grant Professionals Certification Institute. There are 491 GPCs nationwide and 16 in New York State (only 9 of whom serve as grant consultants). The GPC is the first professional credential for individuals working in the grants field to be recognized by NCCA. The GPC credential, which has been in use since 2007, is the only experience-based exam of its kind and the only one to cover the full grant lifecycle.

Liz currently volunteers as Vice President for the United Way of Cattaraugus & Allegany Counties and is an active member of the Grants Professionals Association.
